Statement

My concept for this project was to show the movement of Wellington as a city and I feel that my photographs portray this. With the new photo shoots I still had the key concept of movement but I feel I was much more adventurous and moved in a different direction to my previous work. I Discovered many new ideas whilst looking at my artist models work and learnt that a great photograph can be as simple as one or two elements rather than a busy photograph with hundreds of differing elements.

Gregory Crewdson

Gregory Crewdson

Crewdsons work is very unique and his use of lighting is impeccable. He combines multiple photographs of the same this with slightly differing focal points to create an overall image that is all in focus.

William Eggleston

William Eggleston

Egglestons work is often photographs of everyday items or everyday scenes but eggleston captures these moments or scenes on film and the results are beautiful. He used film as that was all that was around when he started photography but it gives his work something that a digital photograph cannot replicate. Film photographs carry feeling that you can see when you view them. They also have a film grain which to some is ugly but to many it is a desired effect.

Lincoln Harrison

Lincoln Harrison

Harrison takes his photographs of the night sky and leaves the cameras shutter open for so long that you can see the stars moving through the night sky. His work is full of vibrant colour and breathtaking landscapes. His use of colour really heightens the impact of the photographs.
